Overview

The essential work of CCF is that of gathering planned gifts, primarily but not exclusively for endowment, and distributing their proceeds, as intended by the donors, to benefit the work of the Church.  The expression planned gift refers to any gift, large or small, whether current or deferred, whether endowed or not endowed, which is of such significance to the donor, particularly with reference to his or her estate or tax planning, that the advice of a legal or financial professional is customarily sought in making the gift.  Planned gifts normally are made from assets, rather than income, and take such forms as bequests, trusts, charitable gift annuities, pooled income funds, gifts of stock, real estate or tangible personal property.  The activities of CCF will be those of planned gift cultivation, acquisition, administration, investment, and distribution in collaboration with the participating diocesan entities, including the Archdiocese itself.  A summary of those activities, and an assignment of the primary responsibility for each, follows on the next page.
